Attention!
Please avoid exposing prosthetic components to surroundings
that corrode metal parts, for example, freshwater, saltwater, acids
and other liquids. Using this medical device in such environmental
conditions will render all claims against Otto Bock HealthCare
null and void.
Please inform your patients.
2 Connecting with the tube adapter and
handling of the set screws.
The tube of the 2R57 tube adapter must be thoroughly deburred inside
and outside.
Caution!
Prior to final assembly (i.e. prior to inserting the tube adapter into
the sliding adapter), the inside of the sliding adapter and the outside
part of the tube adapter which slides into the sliding adapter must
be cleaned with a degreasing cleaning agent (e.g. 634A3 acetone)!
Prior to setting the tube, loosen the 501Z2=M4×22 Cap Screws (Fig. 1,
item 1) on the sliding adapter by two turns. Insert the tube up to the stop
so that it butts up against the bottom of the clamp on the sliding adapter.
Attention!
For final use, the Cap Screw must be torqued to 5 Nm with the
710D122 Torque Wrench. Failing to comply with this instruction
may lead to permanent over-extension or breaking of the screw.
Adjustments may be made through adjusting the four 506G3 Adjustment
Set Screws (Fig. 1, item 2) during alignment, trial fitting and at any time
after the prosthesis has been completed. The optimal position of the com-
ponents may be preserved when exchanging parts or when servicing the
prosthesis by removing only the two most deeply set adjacent screws.
Once positioning has been determined, replace any set screws that are too
long (to prevent foam cover damage) or too short (lacking strength) (Fig. 2).
