Control module SMO 40
MODBUS 40 is connected to the input card (AA3) on
SMO 40.
Use cable type LiYY, EKKX or similar.

Several RMU 40/ SMS 40
If an additional RMU 40 or a SMS 40 is to be connected
to the heat pump/indoor module, this should be con-
nected from the terminal block in the first unit. No more
than two units can be connected.

Connecting to Modbus-master
The external Modbus master is connected to terminal
block X2 on the Modbus card (AA9).
NOTE
MODBUS 40 uses the communications stand-
ard RS485.
Connect the master with a cable according to
the recommendations for RS485.

Software version Modbus 10 is required to be able to
manage selectable address. The heat pump must have
software version 5539 or higher.
Heat pump/indoor module
1. Start the heat pump/indoor module and select
MODBUS 40 in menu 5.2 "System settings" (menu
5.2.4 for NIBE F1345 and VVM500).
2. Set the address to MODBUS 40 in menu 5.3.11.
(This menu only appears if you have Modbus 10.)
