8.4 PP 45 EO
EnOcean extension module
The PP 45 EO EnOcean extension module
allows radio-controlled PP 45 ventilation units
to also be operated with the RLS 45 K wired
control. The PP 45 EO is connected to the
RS 485 interface of the RLS 45 K .
The PP 45 EO EnOcean module can

only be learned-in with the commis-
sioning software (RLS 45 K). This ac-
tivates the learning mode and sends a
radio telegram. All radio sensors/radio
switches are learned-in directly on the
PP 45 EO. Only the EnOcean module
is learned in on the master.

8.5 PP 45 LT power unit

Power units are connected to the RS 485
interface of the RLS 45 O/K.
A PP 45/PPB 30 system can be expanded
with up to three PP 45 LT power units (power
modules). 3 unit pairs (6 units) can be con-
nected to each power unit.
The first RLS 45 O/K control is operated as
the master and issues the commands. The
slave controls can permanently change the
commands.
This allows systems to be produced with up
to 24 wired PP 45 ventilation units (6 + 3*6 =
24 ventilation units). For PPB 30 systems, the
number of units is reduced accordingly (max.
3 PPB 30, 1 PPB 30 = 2 units (since there are
2 fans per PPB 30).

The power units are connected to the plug-in
connection terminal of the room air control

Recommendation: When connecting

more than two PP 45/PPB 30 units,
carry out the device connections in a
separate recessed-mounted box.
Generally speaking, install the RLS 45
control in a deep recessed-mounted
box.
All ventilation units of a group (Fan1 or Fan2)
for the entire ventilation system run together
in ventilation and air extraction mode.
The addressing of power units takes place
each time with a push of the power unit's
button [T]  chapter 7.7.
8.6 Modbus interface (building control
technology connection)
For a building control technology connec-
tion, the RS 485 interface of the RLS45 O/K
control must be reconfigured as a Modbus
interface. The RS 485 bus is therefore no
longer available.
The Modbus interface is activated in service
mode or using the commissioning software
(PP 45 K)  chapter 14.
The interface is set up with baud rates of
9600 or 19200 and addresses 10 to 50.
If the RS 485 interface is configured as

a ModBus interface, no further com-
ponents (PPB 30 K, sensors, power
units, room air controls etc.) can be
connected at this interface.
8.7 Operation with an odd number of
units
Carry out electrical connection on the Fan1
and Fan2 connections.
When connecting 3 or 5 ventilation units:
● connect the larger number of ventilation
units (2 or 3) to the "Fan2" group and
● connect the smaller number of ventilation
units (1 or 2) to the "Fan1" group.
When operating with an odd number of units,
the volumetric flow required of the "Fan2"
group is automatically compensated for by
the "Fan1" group.
