Operating instructions
Set-up/installation
For portable set-up:
Set up the pump on solid ground. When setting up in
muddy or sandy ground, the pump should be operated
while suspended in the medium, by a rope or chain, or
be placed on a large base plate. Do not suspend the
pump by the cable.
For fixed installation:
Install the pump in compliance with DIN EN 12056-4
regulations (e.g. route the discharge line with a loop
above the locally defined backflow level).
Float switch:
For automatic cut-in/cut-out:
>
Clamp the cable into one of the two terminals
below the carrying handle.
>
Adjust the cut-in and cut-out level by varying the
distance (= the cable length) between the terminal
and float switch. Define the cut-out level so that
the pump cannot run dry.
>
The float switch must be able to move without any
hindrances and must not touch the ground.
For continuous operation:
>
Lock the float switch in both terminals so that it
always points upwards (see Page 11, Figure 3).
The pump does not cut out automatically and must
to be protected from running dry.
Commissioning
The automatic level control of the pump switches on
when the set cut-in level has been reached and swit-
ches off when the set cut-out level has been reached.
When the float switch is locked (continuous operation),
the pump switches on as soon as the electrical supply
has been connected.
Maintenance
Before carrying out any work, disconnect the pump
from the electrical system and secure it from being ac-
cidentally switched on again. Check the discharge pipe
line for damage.
To ensure that the pump operates smoothly, we re-
commend cleaning the inlet strainer of fibres and other
clinging material regularly. To do so, detach the inlet
strainer by turning the bayonet catch, then pull it out.
After cleaning, position the strainer and O-ring on the
pump and lock it by turning (see page 11, figure 4). No
other maintenance work is required.
If there are problems, please contact your GC partner.
