7 STORAGE
The clearing saw should be stored in a dry place. Refer also
to section 2.4. When the clearing saw is to be stored for
periods longer than 4 months, carry out the following
procedures:
1. After draining out the petrol, start the engine and allow it
to run until all the remaining petrol is used up.
WARNING! The stop control should always be in
the stop position when the engine is turned round
with the spark plug lead or spark plug removed.
2. Remove the spark plug, (21) in Fig. 3, and apply 4-5
drops of oil in the spark plug hole. Place the stop control
in the stop position, see Fig. 14. (otherwise the ignition
coil will be overloaded). Pull the handle for the recoil
starter a few times so that the oil is distributed in the
cylinder and crankcase, and then refit the spark plug.
3. Clean the complete clearing saw and replace it in its
original pack.

8 MAINTENANCE

WARNING! Repairs should be carried out by an
authorised dealer, otherwise the warranty will not
be valid.
WARNING! The spark plug connection should be
removed before carrying out repairs or mainte-
nance.
8.1 DAILY INSPECTION
Check that all nuts and bolts are tightened.
Check that the saw blade is not cracked, or warped, and
is not eccentric.
Check that the trimmer head is not cracked, or warped,
and that there is enough line.
Check that there is no fuel leakage.
Check that the cooling air round the cylinder is not
blocked by impurities etc.
Check that the angular gear is not covered with dirt which
can obstruct the cooling.
Check that the guard for the blade/trimming head is in
good condition.
Check that the harness lock functions and can be opened
quickly.
Check that the machine and its safety devices function
correctly.

8.2 INSPECTION AFTER 15 WORKING HOURS
Clean the air filter. See Fig. 25. Use a soft brush and if
necessary wash with petrol. Allow the filter to dry before
refitting it.
Check that there is no leakage at the angular gear.
Check that the angular gear is 2/3 full with grease.
Replenish if necessary with the supplied oil-based grease
(new grease can be obtained from your dealer).

8.3 ADJUSTING THE CARBURETTOR
The carburettor is set at the factory during test running.
Adjustments other than those described in section 6.2.4
should be carried out by your dealer.
8.4 TROUBLE SHOOTING
8.4.1 Fault: Will not start:
Possible reasons:
Stop switch in the stop position.
Spark plug not connected.
Water or condensation in the fuel.
Fuel tank empty.
Engine has received too much fuel (spark plug wet).
Spark plug blocked, or gap incorrect. See Fig. 27.
8.4.2 Fault: Engine does not run at full speed
Possible reasons:
Blocked air filter.
Spark plug blocked, or gap incorrect. See Fig. 27.
Water or condensation in the fuel.
8.4.3 Fault: Engine does not run idling speed
Possible reasons:
Blocked fuel line.
Blocked fuel filter.
Blocked air filter.
Spark plug blocked, or gap incorrect. See Fig. 27.
Idling speed incorrectly adjusted.
