5. Battery installation / change of batteries

Observe correct polarity while inserting the batteries. Remove the batteries
if the device is not used for a long period of time to avoid damage through
leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when contact
with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted
batteries.
Keep batteries out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying around,
as there is risk, which children or pets could swallow it.
Replace all the batteries at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the
device can lead to battery leakage and device damage.
Make sure that batteries are not dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into
fire. Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
A) Weather station
1.
Remove the battery case cover on the back of the weather station.
2.
Insert the batteries while paying attention to the correct polarity ("+" positive; "-" negative)..
(two 1.5 V batteries, type AA Mignon)
.
Put the cover back on.
B) Outside temperature transmitter
1.
Remove the battery case cover from the back of the outside transmitter.
2.
Insert the batteries into the battery case while paying attention to the correct polarity "+"
positive; "-" negative).. (two 1.5 V batteries, type AA Mignon)
.
Put the cover back on.
In case of a change of batteries in one of the units, a new basic setting must be
undertaken with all units. This is necessary since upon being put into operation, the
outside transmitter transmits a random security code to the weather station which
must be received and stored within the first minutes after being put into operation.
If there is not enough battery power, a battery level indicator will be displayed. When
the battery symbol appears, this indicates the batteries need to be changed. If the
battery level is too low, the optimal function and accuracy of the display values of
the units is affected.
