Power supply
Using the charger
- Connect the crocodile clips to a 12 V lead-acid battery or a suitable mains PSU; take
great care over correct polarity (red = positive / black = negative); see also section ent-
itled "Mains PSU".
- The LCD screen will show "ROBBE PP 3 SPORT".
- Connect the battery charge leads to the OUTPUT sockets (red = positive / black = nega-
tive).
- Connect the battery pack to the charge leads with correct polarity. The screen will show
the message READY (ready for use).
- The charger is now ready for use and defaults to trickle charge mode, i.e. the battery is
charged at around 80 mA.
Before you can start the actual charge or discharge process, you have to set the battery
type (NICD or NIMH), the charge current and the discharge current.
The setup menu for this appears when you connect the battery pack.
