d) Switching on the transmitter
• First make sure that there are no other models operated with the same transmitter frequency in the vicinity. Two or
more transmitters with the same frequency interfere with each other; control of the model is then no longer possible!
• Extend the transmitter's telescope antenna to its full length.
• Prior to operating the model, turn on the transmitter first each time. Otherwise, the model may show unpredictable
reactions.
Proceed in reverse order to turn off the model - turn the model off first and then disconnect the
rechargeable battery from the model. Finally, turn off the transmitter.
Check the power LED (ill. 1, pos. 10) to see whether the inserted rechargeable batteries/batteries are still sufficiently
charged. If the red LED flashes indicating a low battery, end operation of the vehicle and switch the vehicle off. Then
exchange the batteries or rechargeable batteries for new ones.
• Put both trim controls (ill. 1, pos. 3 and 4) into center position.
e) Commissioning the model
Place the vehicle on an appropriate surface/stand before you switch it on, so that the wheels can turn freely. Never
reach into the drive when commissioning the model (e.g. connecting the rechargeable battery)!
Electric models with mechanical drive control
• Power supply requires a battery/rechargeable battery box with four mignon batteries/rechargeable batteries or a
rechargeable battery pack with 5 cells. This has to be connected to port "B" on the receiver.
• Adjust the linkage on the mechanical drive control in such a way that the electric motor does not start up if the
throttle/brake lever (ill. 1, pos. 6) and the throttle/brake control (ill. 1, pos. 4) is in center position.
• When you move the model forward and backward using the transmitter, the drive control must faultlessly close the
respective contacts and switch the motor reliably to the correct running direction.
• If the servo for the mechanic drive control runs in the wrong direction, reverse the direction of the servo with the
reverse switch for throttle/brake (ill. 1, pos. 8).
Electric models with electronic drive control
• Usually, electronic drive controls feature a so-called BEC, which generates the operating voltage for the receiver. A
battery/rechargeable battery box for the receiver may not be used!
When using an electronic drive control without BEC, power supply requires a battery/rechargeable battery box with
four mignon batteries/rechargeable batteries or a rechargeable battery pack with 5 cells. This has to be connected
to port "B" on the receiver.
Observe the operating instructions of your electronic drive control to find out whether a BEC is installed or not.
• Then switch on the drive control. Afterwards, you may need to program the drive control to work with the remote
control (end positions for the throttle/brake lever and for neutral position). Also observe the operating instructions for
your drive control in this case.
• Also check the reaction of the drive control to the throttle/brake lever and, if necessary, switch the reverse switch for
throttle/brake (ill. 1, pos. 8). You may also have to switch the motor cables!
