9. Installation and connection of the receiver

• Select an installation position in the model that is as far away as possible from the drive control, the motor and the
servos.
The receiver should be installed in a protected place in the model so that dust or dirt cannot penetrate.
• Attach the adhesive e.g. with Velcro tape or a double-sides adhesive tape in the model. In models with RC boxes,
envelope the receiver with a bit of foam rubber and secure this with a rubber band. Then insert the receiver in the RC
box again.
• If possible, do not install the antenna cable next to other cables.
• Never shorten the antenna cable! This strongly reduces the range. Also, never wrap up the antenna cable. Smoothen
the antenna cable and use a so-called antenna tube that is guided vertically out of the model.
Simply let excess antenna cable protrude loosely from the tip of the antenna tube.
If a small rubber cap is enclosed to the antenna tube or model, plug this onto the top end of the antenna tube. The
rubber cap serves to fix the antenna cable in place so that it cannot slip out of place.
• Depending on the model for which you use the remote control system, the connection as well as the power supply of
the receiver and the servos can be effected in different ways:

(**) Remark: For electric models with mechanical drive control, a battery box or a separate rechargeable receiver
battery is always required for the power supply of the receiver. The power supply connection mounted to the mechanical
drive control must not be used because the voltage of 7.2 V applied at the connection (in a 6-cell rechargeable drive
battery) is too high for the receiver and the connected servos. The receiver or the servos are destroyed and the
warranty/guarantee is void!
For electric models with electronic drive control, a separate rechargeable receiver battery is only required on the B
connection if the motor control used does not have a BEC switcher. Drive control units with a BEC must not have
anything connected to "B". For further information, refer to the technical documents of the drive control unit.
If a separate receiver battery is used, we recommend the use of a 5-cell rechargeable battery pack
(only use 4 cells if using disposable batteries!) or a so-called "Hump" rechargeable battery pack.
This avoids possible technical malfunction as a result of low output voltage from rechargeable batteries
(cell voltage for rechargeable batteries = 1.2V, disposable batteries = 1.5V).
• Observe the right connection of the steering servo and the throttle/brake servo (or the drive control). If the plugs are
twisted, the receiver and the servos as well as the drive control will not function properly.
