13. Handling

Avoid the following unfavourable conditions where the device is placed or in transport:
- Moisture or too high air humidity
- Extreme cold or heat
- Dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- Strong vibrations
- Strong magnetic fields, like those near machines or loudspeakers
Never turn on the device immediately after it has been brought from a cold into a warm
room. Condensation water that forms might destroy your device.
Leave the device switched off and wait until it has reaches room temperature.
Depending on the circumstances this can take several hours.
Make sure that the insulation of the complete product is neither damaged nor
destroyed.
Never pull the mains plug at the cable out of the mains socket!
When opening the covering and/or removing parts (e.g. shell cover) conducting parts
can be uncovered. Leads can also be conducting. Before carrying out maintenance
work, overhauling or the exchange of parts or modules the product has to be separat-
ed from the mains voltage and all other leads. Maintenance or reparation works of the
DVD-player have to be carried out by an EXPERT who is familiar with the involved
dangers and the corresponding regulations (VDE-0100, VDE-0683, VDE-0701).
Prior to operation check whether the product has been damaged!
If you notice any damage do NOT connect the product to the mains
voltage! Mortal danger!
If you are not going to use the DVD-player for a longer period of time switch it off at the
mains switch in the rear.
Never insert anything sharp (e.g. paper clips, pens, pins or knitting
needles, etc.) in airing grooves or device openings. This involves the
danger of electric shock and the destruction of the device.
Please make sure that the DVD-player is placed in such a way that the mains cable
and all other connecting cables are neither bent nor squeezed.
