18. Playable CDs
The following types of CDs can be played with the device:
• DVD
• Audio-CD
• Video-CD (VCD/SVCD)
• MP3-CD

In the CD-tray discs with the diameter of 12 cm can be inserted as well as discs with
a diameter of 8 cm. For the 8 cm-version no additional adapter is required.
19. Basic DVD-Background Knowledge
The DVD (Digital Versatile Disc) can store many times the amount of data of a regular
CD.
The data carrier can contain data on both sides or in two layers. Because of this high
capacity one DVD can contain films in cinema quality, in 3D-sound, in several lan-
guages and with subtitles in various languages.
Moreover a DVD-video can either be watched in the format 4:3 (standard format) or
16:9. A DVD consists of titles and chapters. One DVD can contain one or more titles.
One title (e.g. film, film trailer, etc.) can be divided into several chapters.
Moreover different camera views of a film scene (angles of view) are possible.
