r) Cancelling the fade-ins, key "CANCEL" (32) of the
remote control
Beside other functions already described this key cancels fade-ins.
Many fade-ins (e.g. when pressing the "CHAPTER" key) disappear automatically after
some seconds.
If you do not want to wait for this to happen and the fade-in is irritating you (or if the
fade-in does not disappear automatically) press the "CANCEL" key briefly.
s) Key "EFFECT" (35) of the remote control
With video-CDs (VCDs/SVCDs, not DVDs!) special audio functions may be selected
("Bass", "Treble", "3D") with this key.
With the direction keys " ", " ", " " and " " you may select the desired audio
function and its setting.
Pressing the key "EFFECT" once again saves the settings.
t) Setting the volume, keys "VOL" and "VOL" (24) and
mute mode, key "MUTE" (13) of the remote control
The volume setting is integrated in the DVD-player and can be modified with the keys
"VOL
" and "VOL
". In order to activate the mute mode (e.g. when answering the
phone) press the key "MUTE".
u) Key "PHONE" (30) of the remote control
This key has no function in this version of the DVD-player.
v) Key "SHIFT" (4) of the remote control
The key "SHIFT" can move from the main menu to the normal play mode, this, howev-
er, works only with very few DVDs.
w) Key "SEARCH" (33) of the remote control
By pressing the key "SEARCH" a graphical menu is faded in.
Here you may choose between the following three options with the direction keys " "
and " ".
With the direction keys " " and " " you may select the title of
the DVD. If only one title is registered on the DVD, of course,
the display is not changing.
With the direction keys " " and " " you may choose the
chapter of the DVD.
Enter here the desired time position of the film with the numeral
keys. By doing so you can leap to a certain position in the film.

• DIGITAL
Choisissez entre "Dolby DTS" et "LPCM". Le son DTS contient le signal 5.1, LPCM
ne livre que le son sur deux canaux. Suivant de quelle entrée numérique dispose
votre ampli, il faut choisir le mode correspondant:
- Ampli avec entrée numérique 5.1 et décodeur Dolby: réglage "Dolby DTS"
- Ampli avec entrée numérique ordinaire:
• D.R.C.
"D.R.C." signifie "Dynamic Range Control" et modifie le régime de volume ; les sons
que l'on entend peu sont reproduits plus forts et les sons forts sont tamisés.
• BASS
Réglez ici suivant la taille des haut-parleurs utilisés.
"LARGE": les deux haut-parleurs du devant sont de taille ordinaire, pas de subwoo-
fer supplémentaire utilisé (réglage de base).
"SMALL": les deux haut-parleurs de devant sont de petite taille (par ex. dans des
ensembles haut-parleurs 5.1 spéciaux) et un subwoofer est utilisé.
"OFF":
les basses sont désactivées.
d) Sécurité enfants
Cette fonction disponible sur certains DVD permet de limiter la reproduction (niveau 8
= adulte, niveau 1 = enfants) Certaines scènes d'un film sont ainsi équipées d'un sys-
tème filtre de 1 à 8, quelquefois, des scènes de remplacement spéciales enfants sont
mises à disposition sur le DVD. Souvent, le DVD ne contient pas de valeurs filtres, il
n'est alors pas possible d'empêcher la reproduction des scènes en cause. Pour chan-
ger ce réglage, il est nécessaire d'entrer d'abord un code (combinaison de quatre
chiffres).
