Problem
fan does not run smoothly
Air output of fan too low
Grinding sounds when starting
or operating the fan
Thermal contacts/resistors
have triggered
fan does not reach nominal
speed
Motor does not rotate

Switching the device on
" Before switching the device on, check the device for externally visible damage and ensure that the protective
equipment functions properly.
" Check the airways of the fan for foreign bodies and remove any found.
" Apply the nominal voltage for supply.
" Start the device by altering the input signal.
Possible causes
Rotor imbalance
Adhesions on the rotor
Material decomposition on the rotor due
to aggressive material conveyed
Wrong direction of rotation of rotor
Deformation of rotor due to excessive
temperature
Wrong direction of rotation of rotor
Excessive pressure losses in the lines
Flow regulators not or only partly open
Intake or pressure ducts are blocked
Intake line is strained
Wrong direction of rotation of rotor
Motor blocked
Electrical switching devices set incor-
rectly
Defective motor winding
Incorrectly configured drive motor
Mechanical blockage
Faulty supply voltage
Faulty connection
Temperature monitor has responded
Insufficient cooling
Ambient temperature too high
Remedy
Rebalancing by a specialist company
Clean carefully, rebalance
Contact the manufacturer

Switch off, disconnect from the power
supply and remove the mechanical
blockage.
Check the supply voltage, re-establish
the
voltage supply, apply control signal.
Disconnect from the power supply,
correct the connection, see circuit dia-
gram.
Allow the motor to cool down, find and
resolve the cause of the fault, release
the reactivation lock if required.
Improve cooling. Allow device to cool.
To reset the fault message, switch off
the supply voltage for at least 25 s and
switch on again.
Lower ambient temperature. Reset by
reducing the control input to 0.
