2.1 Area of application without explosion protec-
tion/Atex approval requirement
The pumping stations pump wastewater with and without se-
wage that occurs below the sewer and backwater level fully
automatically into the sewage system in accordance with the
requirements of EN 12056. They are only suitable for use for
domestic wastewater, for example in single family and multi-
family homes, business, hotels and restaurants, department
stores, hospitals, schools or similar cases.
If the feed to the pumping stations must not be interrupted
during normal operation, the lifting station must be equipped
with a second pumping device of the same capacity which
switches on immediately when required (twin station instead
of single station).
The KESSEL pumping station Aqualift®-F has been desi-
gned for installation in the ground outside buildings. The wa-
stewater submersible pumps are equipped with a chopping
device. The chopping device chops up coarse soiling and
impurities. This allows pressure pipes from DN 40 to be
connected. Wearing media must be kept away from the cut-
ting unit. The systems are suitable for constant wastewater
temperatures up to 40°C.

2.2 System description

DThe KESSEL pumping station Aqualift®-F as a single or
twin system basically comprises the following components:
1. One or two sewage pumps with cutting device
2. KESSEL chamber system 800 or 1000
3. Base elbow per pump
4. Shut-off valve per pump
5. Non-return valve
6. Pressure pipe connection muffs PN 10 made of PEHD DN
50 (outer dia. = 63 mm) or DN 80 (outer dia. = 90 mm)
7. Connection for venting pipe DN 100
8. Connection for cable conduit DN 100
9. Inlet pipe DN 100/150
10. Floating switch
2. General
Depending on the version, the KESSEL pumping station
Aqualift -F is delivered
®
- as an individual system with one pump or a twin system
with two pumps without explosion protection
- with pumps of a range of different capacities
- in the KESSEL chamber system with a clear width of 800
mm or 1000 mm
- with installation depths of around 1.5 to 5.0 m.
Base elbow, shut-off valve, non-return valve, pressure pipe
connection muffs and floating switches are pre-mounted in
the lower part of the chamber. The pumps, chamber compo-
nents and electrical control unit are delivered as individual
parts. Depending on size, the pumps are inside the attach-
ment piece or on a separate pallet when delivered. They may
only be inserted into the chamber following complete as-
sembly.
