Note: Should no water run into the drip tray, keep the

Once the water has been emptied out completely, fasten the screw by turning it
clock wisely. The screw should not be overdone to prevent damages to the valve.
c) Now repeat the b) process with the left screw.
d) Remove and empty the drip tray. Be careful, the drip tray resp. the water in it can
be hot. Place the drip tray back in the appliance.
e) Remove the water tank, empty it out and remove the water filter.
f) Fill the water tank up to the MAX marking with a mixture of SOLIPOL
liquid descaling agent and water (dilute SOLIPOL
1:1). Then, place the water tank back in the appliance and lock it.
Caution: Should the descaling agent – even in a diluted form – splash or drip onto
the appliance, please wipe it off immediately to prevent damage to the surface of
the appliance.
3. Starting descaling
Press the button to start descaling.
The appliance fills the boilers with descaling solution and heats up. During this time,
water can flow through the brewing group. Wait for the count down in the display
to reach 0, this takes 20 minutes. In this time, the descaling solution can affect and
remove the limestone deposits. However, you can proceed to the next step before
that by pressing the button.
a) Place a towel over the drip tray so that no steam can escape.
b) Empty the boilers as described in steps 2b and 2c.

c) Remove and empty the drip tray and place it back in the appliance.
d) Remove and empty the water tank. Rinse the water tank with clear tap water, re-
install the water filter and refill the water tank up to the MAX marking with fresh
tap water. Place the water tank back in the appliance and lock it. If you have in-
stalled a new water filter, wait at least 5 minutes until it has soaked up the water.
Note: Please wipe off potential splashes of descaling solution on the outer housing
of the machine immediately, as the substance could damage the surface.
4. Rinsing the boilers
Press the button to proceed.
During the process, the count down reappears in the display (20 minutes).
During this time, the boilers fill with fresh, clean water and are heated up. You can
proceed to the next step at any time by pressing the

When you have completed the descaling phase, press the POWER button to quit
descaling mode. Descaling has been completed and your appliance is ready for use
once again. Refill the water tank with fresh tap water.
