Measuring
- Point the Manual R.P.M. Counter DT-1 Opto towards the rotating
reflective tag in a 90° angle .
- Now press the button for measurement operation (5). The mea-
suring instrument now switches on, the display shows 0 RPM,
and an extremely bright LED now projects a spot of light onto
the object to be measured.
- Now orient the spot of light from the R.P.M. Counter towards the
reflective tag. When the reflection is correct, the display now
shows the reading symbol "((o))" in the top right corner, which
will flash in the reading rhythm for objects that rotate slowly and
will be seen permanently for higher r.p.m.
- The LCD (6) now shows the number of revolutions per minute
(RPM).
- To stop the measurement, release the measurement button.
Now the LCD does not show any measured value, the measuring
instrument switches off automatically.
For objects rotating very slowly, there may be measu-
ring errors. You can avoid this by applying several
reflective tags in regular distances onto the object to
be measured. The measured r.p.m. will then be divided
by the number of tags.
Reading the Measured Value Memory
The R.P.M. Counter DT-1 Opto is equipped with a memory recor-
ding the maximum, minimum and the last measured value. To read
the memory of measured values, please proceed as follows:
- When you have measured r.p.m, the instrument is switched off
again and the LCD does not show any value.
- Now press the memory button again and keep it pressed down.
The LCD now alternates between the last measured value and
the letters "LA" (= last).
- If you release the memory button shortly, and press it again, and
keep it pressed down, the display now shows the maximum
r.p.m and the letters "UP".

• When handling rotating objects please always make sure that the
rotating object you want to measure cannot touch parts of your
clothing or your body.
• Only use the enclosed adhesive reflective tags for measurements.
• Protect your eyes, never look into the measuring opening from
the front, when the instrument is in operation, and the extremely
bright LED is on. Never direct the light beam towards people or
animals.
• Please also observe the safety instructions in the individual sec-
tions of these operating instructions.

The digital Manual R.P.M. Counter DT-1 Opto is a high-precision
optical measuring instrument for measuring the number of revoluti-
