Assigns an individual name with up to 10 characters to each of the
channels.

In the normal operating state, the assigned name is always displayed after
the colon following the channel number (which is on the left). If a Signum
remote keyboard is used as the console keyboard, the channel names can
also be displayed on the LC display of this keyboard (

• Terminate the assignment of names.
Entering channel names via the keyboard takes some time. It is quicker
to assign names via the PC software.
A logic (virtual) channel number can be assigned to every computer
connected to the system via this function. Every computer can be
addressed directly with this virtual number, regardless of the physical wiring
structure.
This function is not included in the standard configuration; it is an option
which must be purchased separately.
