e) Bicolour LEDs

Bicolour LEDs are automatically detected. If your LED has three
pins, please make sure that they are connected to the three probes
in any order.
A two-terminal bicolour LED consists of two LED chips located in
the LED housing in an inverted parallel circuit. Bicolour LEDs with
three pins are produced either with common anodes or with com-
mon cathodes.
A two-terminal bicolour LED has been
detected here.
This message is displayed if a three-
terminal LED is detected.
The details of each LED in the housing is
shown in the same way as for the diode
network, as described in detail above.
The pinout of the 1st LED is displayed.
Keep in mind that t this is only the pinout
for one of the two LEDs in the housing.
Interestingly, the voltage drop for each
LED is related to the different colours
within the bicolour LED. It is therefore
possible to determine which pin is con-
nected to which colour LED within the
device. Red LEDs often have the lowest
forward voltage drop, followed by yellow
LEDs, green LEDs and lastly blue LEDs.
