Safety devices

Retractable blade guard (1)
The retractable blade guard protects against unin-
tentional contact with the saw blade and from chips
flying about.
The retractable blade guard must always close
automatically: if the sawhead is fully lifted, the teeth
of the saw blade must be fully covered.
Safety lock (2)
The safety lock blocks the retractable blade guard:
the saw blade remains covered and the sawhead
can not be lowered as long as the safety lock is not
swung to the side.
Fence (3)
The fence keeps the workpiece from moving when
being cut.
• The fence must always be fitted when cutting.
• For cutting, the workpiece must be held against
the fence and the saw table:
− with a support area as large as possible;
− without being under tension (or else the work-
piece will move upon completion of the cut or
the saw blade jams)

Operating controls

ON/OFF switch
• To start motor:
− depress switch button.
• To stop motor:
− release switch button.

Sawhead tilt lock lever
After loosening the lock lever on the rear the saw head
can be steplessly tilted from vertical through 45°.
