temperature level and
the indicator of the tem-
perature level on the
TEMP dial is lit, but the
appliance does not heat.

You cannot close the lid
completely.
You cannot fold back the

The Possible Reason The Easy Solution
The timer is not acti-
vated.
This is normal operation
after a grilling cycle. The
timer will switch OFF the
appliance, when the set
time elapsed.
This may occur, if the
appliance is heated for
the first time. In this
case, there is no need
to worry.
The heating elements
or grilling plates are pol-
luted.
set to the LOCK position.
The height control fea-
ture is in use.
For operating the appli-
ance in the open positi-
on, the lid is held in the
upright position by a lock
in the hinge.
The appliance will only heat with a grilling time
selected via the timer dial (TIME). Turn the timer dial
clockwise to select a grilling time.
After selecting a temperature and time for grilling, the
LED indicators will illuminate again and the appliance
will heat.
To prepare the appliance for operation, select the tem-
perature level 4 (SUPER HIGH) with the timer set to
20 minutes and leave the appliance operate until the
bell of the timer rings (see: 'Before First Use').
Switch off and unplug the appliance immediately and
leave the appliance cool down. Then remove the gril-
ling plates and clean the heating chambers and grilling
plates of base and lid thoroughly (see: 'Care and Clea-
ning').
When removing the grilling plates after grilling, ensure
that juices from the grilling plates will not drip into the
heating chambers. Ensure that the heating chambers
and the bottom of the grilling plates are completely
clean, before reassembling the appliance (see: 'Assem-
bling the Appliance').
Slide the height control clip to the OPEN position. Do
not use violence.
Hold the lid by the handle and pull the height control
clip to the OPEN position.
Hold the lid by the handle, while pressing the hinge
release button to unlock the hinge. Then, slowly fold
back the lid (see: 'Properties of Your New ›Design BBQ
Pro‹').
