close the lid whenever possible. The food items should be adapted in thickness to
ensure that the grilling plate of the lid rests evenly on the food for even cooking. The
required temperature setting and cooking time depend on size, thickness, type and
desired consistency of your food.

CAUTION:
Do not cut or scratch on the grilling surfaces. For handling your food,
use barbecue utensils of wood or heat-resistant plastic. Do not use any metal utensils.
Otherwise, the non-stick coating could be damaged.Place your food onto the grilling
surface, and turn the timer dial to the desired grilling time. There is no need to wait,
until the timer reached the zero position. If your food needs some more grilling time,
turn the timer dial to the desired position whenever you like.
10. If it is possible to work with the lid closed, lay the lid carefully down onto your
food. When cooking delicate food that could easily be squashed, you should
adjust the height control feature to the thickness of our food. For this, hold the lid
in the correct position, while pushing the height control clip back to the hinge
until it stops. Then, slowly release the lid (see: 'Height Control Feature').
11. Cook your food to the desired consistency. Possibly, you should check the coo-
king process after some minutes.
12. When your food is done, by the handle fold the lid open to the stable upper
position. Take your food from the grilling surface via plastic or wooden barbecue
utensils. Thereafter, you can immediately place fresh food on the grilling surface
and set the timer dial accordingly.When you have finished grilling, switch off
the heating elements by turning the temperature control dial counter-clockwise to
the stop. Then unplug the appliance. The timer will go back to the zero position
automatically, even when the appliance is not live.
CAUTION:
Do not move the appliance and do not remove any parts of the appli-
ance, when the appliance is still hot.
13. Leave the appliance cool down for at least 40 minutes with the lid open, ensu-
ring that the appliance is always out of reach of young children.
14. Clean the appliance after each use to avoid burning food on the surfaces of the
appliance (see: 'Care and Cleaning').
