Connecting and Operation

Before connecting please observe the
chapter
Network
page
27.
Connecting the terminal (PBX/ISDN tele-
phone)
The VoIP/ISDN Gateway is designed for
operation with ISDN PBX and ISDN tel-
ephones that comply with the Euro ISDN
protocol DSS1. Using the system on other connec-
tions can cause malfunctions.
Connected telephones can be fed using the ISDN
bus.
The range of operation and use of features
depend on the terminal used. Please also observe
the user manuals for the terminals.
If you are operating the VoIP/ISDN Gateway with
a PBX that has at least one additional external S
Port, use a standard ISDN cable to synchronize
connection with a NTBA. If no additional NTBA is
connected to the PBX, the synchronization cable
is not necessary.
1. Connect the VoIP/ISDN Gateway („S

Connecting to the available network

If you like to integrate the VoIP/ISDN
Gateway into an existing network con-
sult your responsible system administra-
tor. A change to an existing network may cause
severe functional problems (see also
work Configuration on page
The LAN connection is intended for use on exist-
ing networks through connection to routers,
switches or comparable terminals, for example.
No special connector cable is necessary when
connecting directly to another switch or hub. The
send/receive lines are automatically configured
correctly by the Ethernet port.
1. Connect the VoIP/ISDN Gateway („LAN" jack)
to your current network or Internet access
device (e.g. DSL router) with the Ethernet con-
nector cable that is provided (see
page 31
and
