5. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by non-compliance
with these safety instructions. We do not assume any liability for any result-
ing damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! In such cases,
the warranty will be null and void.
Dear customer,
these safety instructions are not only to protect the product but also for your own
safety and that of other people. Therefore, please read this chapter very carefully
before using the product for the first time!

a) General

• This device left the factory in perfect condition in terms of safety engineering. We
kindly request the user to observe the safety instructions and warnings contained
in the enclosed operating instructions so this condition is maintained and to
ensure safe operation.
• For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifica-
tions of the product are not permitted.
• Meters and their accessories are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of
children.
• The product is suitable for use only in a dry environment. No part of the product
should become damp or wet; never handle it if your hands are wet! There is a risk
of a life-threatening electric shock!
• Please make sure that your hands, your shoes, your clothing, the floor, switches
and switching components are dry.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to
a warm one. The condensation that forms can ruin the product under certain
circumstances. Leave the product switched off and wait until it has reached room
temperature, before using it.
• The device may not be used in explosion-prone areas (Ex).
