This measuring device is designed and tested according to the established standards DIN 57
411 volume 1/VDE 0411 volume 1, (Protective Measures for Electronic Measuring Devices)
and IEC 1010-1 and has been delivered in perfect condition concerning safety requirements.
To preserve this condition and to ensure safe operation, the user has to heed the safety
instructions and warnings contained in this operating manual ("Warning!" and "Note!"). The
following symbols are of major importance and must be heeded:

= Safety class II (=double insulation)

Current measurements are only admissible in DC circuits which are protected against short-
circuit with 0.25 A, or in which no voltages over 250 VDC may occur. The measuring device
must not be used in installations of over-voltage category III according to IEC 664. The
measuring device and the measuring leads are not protected against electric arc explosions
(IEC 1010-2-031, section 13.101).

Measuring devices and accessories are not toys and should be kept out of the reach of
children!

In industrial facilities, the safety regulations laid down by the professional trade association
for electrical equipment and facilities must be adhered to.

The handling of measuring devices in schools, training facilities, hobby and self-help
workshops must be supervised by trained personnel.

Be especially careful when handling voltages over 25 V AC or 35 V DC. These voltages can
cause dangerous electric shocks, when live parts are contacted. Therefore, firstly make
sure that the measuring device is voltage-less, then connect the instrument to the inputs
of the voltage source to be measured, set the required effective range and turn the voltage
source on.

Switch the voltage source off-circuit after measurement is completed and disconnect the
measuring leads from the inputs of the voltage source.

Before taking voltage measurements, make sure that the measuring device is not set to
current mode (Rotary switch set to „DC mA")

Before changing the effective range, the test prods must be removed from the measuring
object.

Always check your measuring device and the measuring leads for damage before taking
