c) Replacing the fuse
The low-ohm resistance measurement range is protected against outside voltages with a fuse.
If you can no longer measure resistances, check the inserted fuse and replace it if necessary
with a new one of the same type and nominal current.
Open the housing as described in Chapter 7. Inserting/changing the batteries.
Use a sharp object to lever the fuse out of the side well in the meter. Replace the fuse with a
new one.
Hold the meter at a slight angle so you can let the fuse slide on the wall of the housing into the
fuse holder. Make sure the fuse sits securely in the holder.
Close the meter again carefully.
Fuse: High-performance fuse 5 x 20 mm, fast 500 mA/600 V
Using mended fuses or bridging the fuse holder is not permitted for safety
reasons. This may lead to fire or to electric arc explosion. Never operate the
meter when it is open.

d) Cleaning

Before the product can be cleaned, all connected leads must be disconnected from the meter
and from all objects to be measured. Switch off the meter.
Do not use scouring, chemical or aggressive cleaning agents such as benzene, alcohol or
the like for cleaning. These might attack the surface of the device. Furthermore, the fumes
are explosive and hazardous to your health. Moreover, you should not use sharp-edged tools,
screwdrivers, metal brushes or similar implements for cleaning.
To clean the device or the display and measuring cables, use a clean, slightly damp, fuzz-free,
antistatic cloth. Let the meter dry completely before you use it for a measurement.
