16. Installation and Configuration of the Inputs

a) Inputs "IN1" and "IN2" (2 Optocouplers)

The inputs "IN1" and "IN2" can send an SMS if a signal is received at the input. The SMS text
can be determined in the configuration software.
If there is no external voltage at the inputs "IN1" and "IN2", e.g. supplied by a smoke detector,
the inputs are in the switching condition "HIGH". If an external voltage between 3 - 12 V/DC is
connected, the inputs are set to the switching condition "LOW".
The devices connected to inputs "IN1" and "IN2" (e.g. a smoke detector) must deliver a "signal
voltage" of 3 - 12 V/DC in case of alarm. Otherwise, the devices must be connected to an
"auxiliary voltage". Observe the application examples online at www.conrad.com with the
respective product.

No output can be switched. Only a message SMS can be sent. The input signal
change must be present for at least 3 seconds before it is recognised.
Since the GSM module will only check all changes after approx. 1 minute after restart,
you have to delay verification of correct function of this circuit by this time. If, e.g.,
motion detectors are connected to the inputs, we recommend connecting the devices
again only after one minute.
Proceed as follows for configuration:
• Check "Used" for "Input 1" in the control software
under "2 Optocouplers" for the input to be switched
on.
• Enter a message text for input 1 (e.g. fire alarm) in "2
optocoupler inputs".
• Activate "Message if input is low".
• Select (as described in detail in the previous
chapters) the phone number of your mobile phone.
• Send the input to the GSM module in
"Communication" (click button "Send").
• If you want to permanently keep these changes,
save them in the control software as well (button
"Save").
