c) Record level indicator

The DISPLAY (7) indicates the level of the output signal.
The level on the indicator should not permanently exceed the „0" dB value; otherwise the music signal
may become distorted. A short blinking or deflection beyond the „0" dB value in case of signal peaks
is not harmful.
d) Volume control
• Set the volume of the connected amplifier to minimum.
• Turn the MASTER control (4) and the GAIN control (17) to minimum.
• Slide the faders CH1/CH2 (10) to minimum as well.
• Use the switches PHONO/CD/LINE (2) to select the appropriate channel input.
• Start the connected playback device, e.g. a CD player. If this device has a volume control, set the volume to about
75% of the maximum level.
• Slide the appropriate fader CH1/CH2 (10) right to the top.
• Turn the MASTER control (4) to maximum.
• You can set the signal level using the GAIN control (17). The signal level can now be read on the recording level
display. It should not exceed the 0dB value.
• Now set the desired maximum volume using the volume control on the amplifier. Avoid distortion.
• With the controls LOW/MID/HIGH (15), you can change the playback sound.
• Repeat the setting for all mixing desk channels. All channels should have about the same volume when cross-
fading between the channels so that there are no great differences in the volume which would otherwise require
the output signal to be adjusted.
• After you have made these settings, use only the MASTER control (4) when you want to change the playback
volume.
Make sure that the connected loudspeakers and the amplifier are not overloaded. Playback
should not be distorted under any circumstances.
If distorted music signals can be heard although the volume on the amplifier has not been set
too high and the mixing desk has been set correctly, switch off the mixing desk immediately and
check the connection. If there are no connection errors, please contact a specialist.
