not be switched on and off.
21. ATTENTION!
• The use of other insertion tools and other acces-
sories can entail a danger of injury.
22. Have your power tool repaired by a qualified

electrician using original spare parts. Otherwise
accidents can occur.
5.3
Safety instructions for the saw blade
5.3.1 Safety measures
• Deformed or cracked saw blades may not be used.
• Replace the worn table insert.
• Only use saw blades recommended by the manufac-
turer and which comply with EN 847-1.
•
m ATTENTION! When changing the saw blade, en-
sure that the cutting width is not smaller and the width
of the saw blade disc is not greater than the thickness
of the riving knife.
• Make sure that a suitable saw blade for the material
to be cut is selected.
• If necessary, wear suitable personal protective
equipment. This could include:
- Hearing protection to avoid the risk of becoming
hearing impaired;
- Respiratory protection to avoid the risk of inhaling
harmful dust;
- Wear gloves when handling saw blades and
rough materials. Saw blades must be carried in a
container whenever practical.
• The following factors can influence the release of dust:
- Worn, damaged or cracked saw blades;
- Recommended extraction performance of the
chip extraction system 20 m/s;
- The workpiece should be guided properly.
• Saw blades made of high-alloy high-speed steel
(HSS steel) must not be used.
• The push stick or the handle for a wooden push
block should always be kept on the machine when
not in use.
• Only use the saw if the guards are in the intended
position, especially after changing the sawing mode,
and if the guards are in good condition and have been
properly maintained.
5.3.2 Maintenance and service
• The following conditions can influence the noise im-
pact on the operator.
- Type of saw blade (e.g. saw blades to reduce
noise);
- Material of the workpiece;
- Force with which the workpiece is pushed against
the sawblade.
• Faults in the machine, including the guards and the
saw blade, must be reported to the person responsi-
ble for safety as soon as they are discovered.
5.4
Safety instructions for operation as a cross-
cut mitre saw
5.4.1 Safe operation
• Select a saw blade suitable for the material to be cut.
• Never use the table top cross-cut mitre saw to cut
materials other than those specified by the manu-
facturer.
• When transporting the machine, use only the trans-
port devices and never use the guards for handling
or transport.
• Only use the saw if it is in good condition and has
been properly maintained.
• Ensure that the device for swivelling the arm is se-
curely fastened when mitre sawing.
• The floor around the machine must be level, clean
and free of loose particles such as chips and cutting
residue.
• Ensure adequate workplace or room lighting.
• The operator must be adequately trained in the use,
adjustment and operation of the machine.
• Only use properly sharpened saw blades. The max-
imum speed specified on the saw blade must be
observed.
• Make sure to only use spacers and spindle rings that
are suitable for the purpose specified by the man-
ufacturer.
• If the machine is equipped with a laser, this laser must
not be replaced with a laser of a different type. Re-
pairs may only be carried out by the laser manufac-
turer or an authorised representative.
• Do not remove cutting waste or miscellaneous parts
of the workpiece from the cutting area so long as the
machine is running and the sawing unit has not yet
come to the resting position;
• Ensure that the machine is always attached to a
workbench, a table or on the base frame whenever
possible.
• Secure larger workpieces against tipping after the
cutting process (e.g. reel-off stand).
