IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING: This product contains chemical known to the state of California that
may contribute to an individual's overall lifetime risk of cancer and reproductive
harm from exposure to lead.
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS – This manual contains important safety and
operating instructions for CTEK BOOSTER.
1.
CAUTION: Manual Mode disables all safety measures. When used
improperly and/or against our recommended use, it may result in injury
or death and will void your warranty. Risk of spark, fire, explosion, and
burns. Do not disassemble, crush, heat above 60ºC (140ºF) or inciner-
ate. This device is intended for temporary use outdoors and reasonable
care should be exercised when using this device in wet conditions.
2.
WARNING: Do not overcharge the internal battery. See Instruction
Manual. Do not smoke, strike a match, or cause a spark in the vicinity of
the power pack. Only charge the internal battery in a well-ventilated area
when not in use.
3.
CAUTION: Risk of injury to persons. This device is not intended for
use in a commercial repair facility. This device is intended to be stored
indoors when not in use. This device shall not be stored or left outdoors
when not in use.
4.
WARNING: Do not put fingers or hands into the product. Do not use
a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or
modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire,
explosion or risk of injury. Do not disassemble the power pack, take it to
a qualified service person when service or repair is required. Incorrect
reassembly may result in a risk of fire or electric shock.
5.
To reduce the risk of injury, close supervision is necessary when the
product is used near children. This appliance is not designed to be used
by young children or people who cannot read or understand this manual
unless they are under supervision of a responsible person to ensure that
they can use the battery charger safely.
6.
Do not expose this device to rain or snow.
7.
Use of an attachment not recommended or sold by CTEK may result in a
risk of fire, electric shock or injury to persons.

WORKING IN VICINITY OF A LITHIUM BATTERY IS DANGEROUS.
BATTERIES GENERATE EXPLOSIVE GASES DURING NORMAL
BATTERY OPERATION. FOR THIS REASON, IT IS OF UTMOST
IMPORTANCE THAT YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS EACH
TIME YOU USE THE BOOSTER.
b)
To reduce risk of battery explosion, follow these instructions and those
published by the battery manufacturer and the manufacturer of any
equipment you intend to use in vicinity of battery. Review cautionary
marking on these products and on engine.
10.
WARNING – RISK OF EXPLOSIVE GASES
a)
Consider having someone close enough by to come to your aid when
you work near a lead-acid battery.
b)
Have plenty of fresh water and soap nearby in case battery acid
contacts skin, clothing or eyes.
c)
Wear complete eye protection and clothing protection. Avoid touching
eyes while working near battery.
d)
If battery acid contacts skin or clothing, wash immediately with soap
and water. If acid enters eye, immediately flood eye with running cold
water for at least 10 minutes and get medical attention immediately.
e)
NEVER smoke or allow a spark or flame in vicinity of battery or engine.
f)
Be extra cautious to reduce risk of dropping a metal tool onto battery. It
might spark or short-circuit battery which may cause explosion.
g)
Remove personal metal items such as rings, bracelets, necklaces, and
watches when working with lead-acid batteries. A lead-acid battery can
produce a short-circuit current high enough to weld a ring or the like to
metal causing a severe burn.
h)
NEVER charge a frozen battery.
i)
When charging the internal battery, work in a well-ventilated area. Do
not restrict ventilation in any way.
j)
Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid
contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts
eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery
may cause irritation or burns.
k)
Do not expose a power pack to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure
to fire or temperature above 130°C may cause explosion. The tempera-
ture of 130°C can be replaced by the temperature of 265°F.
l)
Have servicing performed by a qualified repair person using only identi-
cal replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the product is
maintained.
