Right rotation
set the switch (4) to the extreme left position.
Counterclockwise rotation
• set the switch (4) to the extreme right position.
* Please note that in some cases the position of the rotation direction
switch in relation to the rotation may be different than described. Please
refer to the symbols on the rotation direction switch or on the device
housing.
Do not change the direction of rotation while the drill spindle is
rotating. Before starting, check that the rotation direction switch
is in the correct position.
OPERATING MODE SWITCH
The operating mode switch (2) allows you to select the appropriate
operating mode: drilling without hammering or with hammering (Fig.
B). For drilling in materials such as metal, wood, ceramics, plastics
or similar, set the switch to the non-hammer mode (drill symbol). For
drilling in materials such as stone, concrete, brick or similar, set the
switch to the hammer mode (hammer symbol). Holes in wood, wood-
based materials and metals are made using high-speed steel or
carbon steel drill bits (only in wood and wood-based materials).
Special drill bits with carbide tips (widia) are used for hammer drilling.
Do not use the left-hand rotation direction when the hammer
function is activated.
Prolonged drilling at low spindle speeds may cause the motor to
overheat. Take periodic breaks or allow the device to run at
maximum speed without load for approximately 1-2 minutes. Be
careful not to cover the holes in the housing used for ventilation
of the drill motor.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
Before performing any installation, adjustment, repair or
maintenance work, remove the power cord plug from the mains
socket.
• It is recommended to clean the device immediately after each
use.
• Do not use water or other liquids for cleaning.
• Clean the device with a dry cloth or blow it with low-pressure
compressed air.
• Do not use any cleaning agents or solvents, as they may damage
plastic parts.
• Clean the ventilation slots in the motor housing regularly to
prevent the device from overheating.
• If the power cord is damaged, replace it with a cord of the same
specifications. This should be done by a qualified specialist or by
taking the device to a service centre.
• If excessive sparking occurs on the commutator, have the
condition of the motor carbon brushes checked by a qualified
person.
• Always store the device in a dry place out of the reach of children.
REPLACING THE DRILL CHUCK
• Open the jaws of the drill chuck (1).
• Remove the screw securing the drill chuck using a Phillips
screwdriver, turning the screwdriver clockwise (left-hand thread).
• Insert the hexagonal key into the drill chuck (Fig. D).
• Tap the end of the hex key lightly.
• Unscrew the drill chuck.
• Refit the drill chuck in the reverse order to removal.
REPLACING CARBON BRUSHES
Worn (shorter than 5 mm), burnt or broken motor carbon brushes
must be replaced immediately. Always replace both carbon
brushes at the same time. The replacement of carbon brushes
should only be carried out by a qualified person using original
parts.
Any faults should be repaired by an authorised manufacturer's
service centre.

Information on noise and vibration
The noise emitted by the device is described by: the emitted sound
pressure level Lp
and the sound power level Lw
A
measurement uncertainty). The vibrations emitted by the device are
described by the vibration acceleration value a
measurement uncertainty).
The following values given in this manual: sound pressure level Lp
, sound power level Lw
A
measured in accordance with EN 62841-1. The specified vibration
level a(
can be used to compare devices and for a preliminary
h)
assessment of vibration exposure.
The vibration level given is only representative for the basic
applications of the device. If the device is used for other applications
or with other working tools, the vibration level may change.
Insufficient or infrequent maintenance of the device will result in a
higher vibration level. The reasons given above may increase
exposure to vibration during the entire working period.
To accurately estimate vibration exposure, periods when the
device is switched off or when it is switched on but not used for
work must be taken into account. After careful estimation of all
factors, the total vibration exposure may be significantly lower.
In order to protect the user from the effects of vibration, additional
safety measures should be implemented, such as: regular
maintenance of the device and work tools, ensuring adequate hand
temperature and proper work organisation.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Electrically powered products should not be disposed of with
household waste, but should be taken to appropriate facilities for
disposal. Information on disposal can be obtained from the product
retailer or local authorities. Used electrical and electronic
equipment contains substances that are not environmentally
neutral. Equipment that is not recycled poses a potential threat to
the environment and human health.
