8.1 General

The MMAD was determined using a 4% solution of lidocaine hydrochloride
monohydrate in the Next Generation cascade impactor (NGI).
The flow rate in the NGI was 15l/min.
Determination of operating pressure and flow
- The measurement described in the following may only be carried
out by hospital staff, appropriately trained staff at the dealership,
or employees of PARI GmbH.
- The PARI TIA nebuliser S will not function according to specifica-
tion unless the hospital compressed air supply or the compressor
used satisfies the following criteria.
• Connect the nebuliser to a source of compressed air.
• Measure the flow under ambient conditions of +23°C air temperature and
50% relative humidity downstream from the nozzle.
The operating pressure is the pressure present at the nozzle for this flow.
Both values are measured at the same time.
