— in case of abnormal vibrations.
PREPARATION
Always wear sturdy shoes and long pants when mowing, do not operate the appliance
with a bare foot or in sandals.
Inspect the area where the machine will operate and remove any stones, branches,
wires, bones, and other foreign objects.
In high grass, you can not see obstacles (eg stumps, roots), so before you start working
with the device, you should mark all obstacles hidden in the grass that cannot be
removed.
Always inspect the knives, bolts and knife assembly for wear or damage before use.
Replace worn or damaged knives and bolts in pairs to maintain balance.
For multi-knife machines, be careful, as one knife may rotate other knives.
SHARPENING THE KNIFE
To ensure optimum working conditions, the machine knife should be sharpened. This
seemingly simple operation must be carried out with special care. This requires a lot of
technical knowledge and the necessary service equipment. The manufacturer is not
responsible for any damage to the mower due to improper sharpening of the knife. The
recommended angle is 30°.
It is safe to have the knife sharpened BY an authorized MURRAY service.
Switch off the mower, allow the engine to cool down, remove the battery and unscrew
the knife before sharpening.
The knife can be sharpened manually, with the help of a stone or a suitable metal file,
even better with a professional sharpener, all the time bearing in mind the fact that the
blade may overheat, thus it will not be suitable for work. It is recommended to use liquid
coolant for metal processing, it is acceptable to use water at all times, bearing in mind
that not all sharpening machines can operate in the coolant stream. If the blade surface
is colored blue, the blade is damaged and should not be used anymore.
After each knife sharpening, it must be carefully balanced. If the user does not have
a balancing machine and the relevant knowledge, it is necessary to have the knife
serviced for balancing. Working with an unbalanced knife causes excessive vibration and
can result in loosening of the screw joints of the entire machine, including the knife
fastening screw, which can be dangerous to the health and life of the user.
USE
Only in daylight or in good artificial light.
