Bottom guide rollers (Fig. 16)
Adjust the bottom guide rollers (i) to the respective
saw band width. The front edges of the guide roll-
ers may only reach up to the tooth base of the saw
band. If the guide rollers lightly touch the saw band,
tighten the screws (h).
The saw band must not jam!
Storage of the push stick (Fig. 17)
In order to have the push stick (R) to hand at all
times, hang it on the device (j) intended for this, at
the top left side of your band saw.
8.10 Transverse cutting gauge (14) (optional)
(Fig. 18)
1. Slide transverse stop (o) into a groove (k) in the
saw table.
2. Release the grip screw (l).
3. Turn the transverse stop (o) until the desired an-
gle has been set. The arrow on the lateral stop
indicates the set angle.
4. Retighten the grip screw (l).
5. The stop rail (n) can be slid against the trans-
verse stop (o). To do so, loosen the knurled screw
(m) and slide the stop rail (n) into the desired
position.
6. Tighten the knurled screws (m) again
Attention! Do not slide the stop rail (n) too far in the
direction of the saw blade.
8.11 Suction port (Fig. 1)
The band saw is equipped with a rear suction port
Ø 98 mm and a side suction port Ø 41 mm for chips.
The rear suction port is pre-mounted. The side suc-
tion port can be mounted as shown in Fig. 5.2 with
four screws and four M6x10 washers.
Only operate the device with a suitable extraction
system. Check and clean the extraction channels at
regular intervals.
8.12 Switching on/off (Fig. 1)
• The saw can be switched on by pressing the green
"I" button on the ON/OFF switch (10). Before start-
ing sawing, wait until the saw blade has reached
its maximum speed.
• To switch the saw off again, press the red "0" but-
ton on the ON/OFF switch (10).
Attention!
All protective devices and covers must be installed
before any work is carried out on the machine. The
top and bottom band wheel is clad by a firmly at-
tached protection and a moveable housing cover.
The machine is switched off when the housing cover
is opened. It can only be switched on with the cover
closed.
9. Transport
The machine may only be lifted and transported on
the frame or the base plate. Never lift by the guards,
adjustment handles or saw table for transport.
During transport, the saw band guard must be in the
lowest position and close to the table. Never lift by
the table! Disconnect the machine from the mains in
order to transport.
10. Working instructions
The following recommendations are examples for
safe use of the band saws.
The following safe working methods are considered
to contribute to safety but may not be appropriate,
fully or extensively applicable for every use. They
cannot cover all possible hazardous conditions and
must be interpreted carefully.
• When working in enclosed spaces, connect the
machines to a suction system.
• If the machine is not in operation, e.g. work is com-
plete, slacken the saw band. Attach a correspond-
ing note to the machine for the next user about the
tensioning of the saw band.
• Store unused saw bands together and safely in a
dry place. Check for faults (teeth, cracks) before
use. Do not use defective saw bands!
• Wear suitable gloves when handling saw bands.
• Before starting work, all guards and safety devices
on the machine must be securely fitted.
• Never clean the saw band or the saw band guide
with a hand-held brush or scraper if the saw band
is running. Resinous saw bands jeopardise work
safety and must be cleaned regularly.
• Wear safety goggles and hearing protection when
working for your personal protection. Wear a hair
net with long hair. Roll loose sleeves up above the
elbows.
• Always position the saw band guide as close as
possible to the workpiece when working.
• Make sure that the lighting conditions in the work-
ing and surrounding area of the machine are suf-
ficient.
• Always use the longitudinal stops for straight cuts
in order to prevent the workpiece from tilting or
slipping.
• Use the push stick for processing narrow work-
pieces with manual advance.
• For angled cuts, bring the saw table into the ap-
propriate position and guide the workpiece along
the longitudinal stop.
• In order to cut dovetail tenons and teeth or wedges,
swivel the saw table into the plus and minus posi-
tion. Ensure that the workpiece is guided safely.
