Pain in the lumbar region, small of the

Pain in the lumbar region is often the result of wear on
vertebrae and spinal discs. This may lead to pressure on
protruding nerves and radiating pain, e.g. in a leg. In
the treatment the electrodes are attached to both sides
of the vertebrae, onto the painful and tense muscle
(see fig. 10). If the area of pain is extended, then both
channels of the PierenPlus basic may be used (see fig.
11). If pain is radiated into the leg, then one electrode
is applied to the main pain point in the back and the
other to the main point of radiated pain or to the point
on the leg where the radiated pain ends (see fig. 12).
This electrode placement is particularly effective for
sciatic pain.
Hip pain
Programme 1, 2, 3, 7
Pain in the hip area is often the result of wearing of the
joints (arthrosis). Pain in the hip region may be treated
with the application of electrodes above and below the
joint (see fig. 13). In addition, pain is also radiated out-
wards, e.g. towards the groin. In this case an electrode
is applied to the main point of pain on the hip and a
second in the direction that the pain is radiated (see
fig. 14).
