Control elements

Familiarise yourself with the operating
elements before using the device for
the first time.
Multifunction handle (5)
• Switch lock (3)
• Locks the start lever against un-
intentional operation.
• Unlock: Press
• Start handle (4)
• Start the engine.
• Speed button (2)
Set the rotational speed in 3 incre-
ments.
• Speed display (1)
Shows the set speed.

Cutting unit

Authorised cutting units
WARNING! Risk of injury! Not
every cutting unit that you can attach
to your device guarantees safe use.
Only use cutting units that have been
specially designed and recommended
by the manufacturer for this device.
WARNING! Risk of injury! A cutting
unit that rotates faster than permitted
can break and fly around. The per-
missible speed or peripheral speed
of the cutting unit must be at least as
high as specified below.
All cutting units
• Max. permitted speed: ≥4600/
5500/7000 min⁻¹
• Protective cover (27) is fitted
Spool cap
• Spool cap supplied or equivalent
replacement
Metal cutting tool
• Steel cutter: Supplied steel cut-
ter with 2 blades or equivalent re-
placement
• Do not use a saw blade!
Fitting and removing the spool cap
Requirements
• Protective cover (27): fitted
Tools required
• Hex key (15)
Fitting the spool cap (Fig. E)
1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Block the spindle lock (49) with the
tool (see illustration).
3. ⭯ Screw the spool cap (30) onto
the uptake spindle (48).
4. Remove the tool from the spindle
lock (49).
5. Pull on both ends of the line to re-
lease the lines from the grooves.
6. Trim the thread line to approx.
15 cm to release strain on the en-
gine when starting and warming
up.
Removing the spool cap (Fig. E)
1. Switch off the device, wait until
all moving parts have come to a
complete standstill and remove the
batteries.
2. Block the spindle lock (49) with the
tool (see illustration).
3. ⭮ Unscrew the spool cap (30)
from the uptake spindle (48).
4. If you do not fit any other cutting
tool:
Remove the hex key (15) from the
spindle lock (49).
Replacing the spool
Requirements
• The spool cap is removed.
