Always wear appropriate personal
protection equipment as instructed
by the chemical manufacturer
when using, preparing, handling,
spraying, or disposing of
chemicals. This equipment
includes at least goggles, gloves,
respiratory protection and
protective clothing.
Before spraying chemicals, you
u
are required to consider how close
you are to sensitive areas such as
schools, hospitals, sensitive crops,
waterways, livestock, farms and
bee foraging areas.
Work only in the open or in very
well-ventilated locations, e.g. open
greenhouses.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while
working with plant protection
chemicals.
If you are interrupted while applying
the spray material by a phone call,
for e ample be sure to close the
spray materials' container properly
and put it out of reach of any child
who may come into the area while
you are gone.
Never blow through nozzles or other
components by mouth.
Do not spray in the direction of
people or animals. Avoid spraying on
windy days. The spray materials can
be accidentally blown onto plants or
objects that should not be sprayed.
Always spray downwind.
Too high or too low a spray pressure
or unfavourable weather conditions
can result in the wrong solution
concentration.

Never spray in the direction of
bystanders.
Take special care in slippery
conditions damp, snow, ice, on
slopes or uneven ground.
Watch out for obstacles: Be careful
of refuse, tree stumps, roots and
ditches which could cause you to trip
or stumble.
To reduce the risk of accidents,
take a break in good time to avoid
tiredness or exhaustion.
Work calmly and carefully – in
daylight conditions and only when
visibility is good. Stay alert so as not
to endanger others.
Never work on a ladder or any other
insecure support.
When working in open ground and
gardens take special care to avoid
harming small animals.
To avoid drifting, di erent parameters
should be taken into account when
spraying. Examples:

To reduce the risk of electrocution,
never work in the vicinity of live wires
or power cables.
