gerous, moving parts! Be careful with the
line cutter. It can cause serious lacerations.

dirt from the protective cover and the
cutting unit.
Maintenance
Replacing the spool (Fig. D)
The correct winding direction of the spool
(11) is specified in the spool cap (12) and
on the spool. The arrows on the spool cov-
er (23) indicate the direction of rotation of
the motor.
Procedure
1. Remove the battery (17) from the
device.
2. the spool cap (12) by simultaneously
pressing the two releases (24) on the
spool cap.
3. Remove the spool cover (23) and take
out the old spool (11).
4. Press the line end of the new spool out
of the spool slot (26).
5. Insert the new spool (11) into the
spool cap (12). The side of the spool,
on which the rotation direction is indic-
ated by arrows, must be visible after in-
sertion.
6. Insert the line end through the line out-
let loop opposite each other (10).
7. Put the spool cover (23) back on the
spool cap (12). Make sure that the re-
leases (24) on the cover fit precisely in-
to the recesses on the spool cap. You
will hear them snap into place.
8. Pull on the line end and press on the
locking button (25) repeatedly until the
line ends protrude about 1 cm beyond
the line cutter (27).
9. Check the line cutter.
Never use the device without a line cutter
or with a defective line cutter. Contact the
service centre if the line cutter is damaged.
Winding up spare line
1. Thread an end of the spare line
through the opening of the spool (11).
2. Wind the line in the winding direction
of the spool. Pay attention to the ar-
rows on the top of the spool (11).
Storage
Always store the device:
• clean
• dry
• protected against dust
• out of the reach of children
The storage temperature for the re-
chargeable battery and the device is
between 0°C and 45°C. Avoid extreme
cold or heat during storage to ensure the
battery output is not adversely affected.
Remove the rechargeable battery from the
device before storing the device (see the
separate operating instructions for the bat-
tery and charger).
Do not lie the device down on the protect-
ive cover. It is best to hang it on the upper
handle so that the protective cover does
not touch any other objects. There is a risk
that the protective cover will become de-
formed, thus changing the dimensions and
safety characteristics.
Disposal/
environmental
protection
Remove the battery from the device and
recycle the device, battery, accessories
and packaging in an environmentally-
friendly manner.
