Expansion options
Proportional Channel, linear ( Order No. F 1601)
This slider control adds a proportionally controllable function
to the transmitter. Proportional channel and switch channel
can be connected at sockets 1 - 7, as desired, the direction
of rotation is reversed by turning the plug through 180°.
Switch Channel, 3 pos. (Order No. F 1600)
This switch adds one switch function to the transmitter.
Servo travel: extreme left, neutral, extreme right.
Dual Rate Module
Dual rate refers to "control-path change-over". Once this
module has been fitted, itis possible to set the deflection of
two stick functions. This deflection setting can be switched
over from full range to reduced range during use by fitting
additional dual rate switches (Order No. 1502, x 2}. This also
reduces the trim value, so any trimmed values are also
switched
over
at the
same
time.
We
recommend
mechanically trimming the model in advance so that no trim
deflection is necessary on the stick trims.
Fitting: The dual rate module is practically installed between
the stick unit cables and the transmitter connection sockets.
Pull the plugs of the required stick function out of the
connection pins on the transmitter electronics board, and
plug them into the three-pin sockets on the dual rate module.
Push the dual rate module plugs into the appropriate "STICK"
or "EXT." sockets on the transmitter electronics board. lf the
dual rate function is required to be switchable, insert the
dual rate plugs into the 2-pin sockets on the dual rate
module board.
Installation
To install a switch into the option wells 1 + 2, remove the
option well masking by loosening the two screws visible
from the outside and lifting off the masking. Remove the
retaining nut from the switch, and, working from behind,
install the switch in the required position. Secure the switch
from outside, using the nut. Using taper-nosed pliers or
tweezers, break the appropriate switch site out of the mask.
Now, working from the rear (mirror writing), the marking
labels supplied with the set can be stuck into the cover
recesses
intended for this purpose.
Refit the cover by
means of the two screws.
To insiall the proportional channel, first remove the cover in
the transmitter centre (mounting site of slider control). Lift
and remove the aluminium cover with a sharp knife. From
the rear, place the proportinal channel into the transmitter
and secure it. Apply new cover (remove protective film),
piace the knob in position.
To install the dual rate module, first remove the masking on
the option wells by loosening the two retaining screws and
lifting off the masking. From the rear, place the dual rate
module in the required position and secure by means of the
screw provided. Break the appropriate cover out of the
masking, then refit the masking.
F-14 Mini Option
The Mini Option is a mixer for two functions. A mixer
combines two control functions, Le. any given function can
influence another. Thus it is possible, when operating one
function, to simultaneously influence another function, which
is known as an "accompanying mixer". Or, alternatively, two
functions are mixed mutually and equally; this is then a
"cross mixer". Both the accompanying and the mutual mix
can
be set by means
of adjustment
controls.
The
accompanying mix itself can be switched on or off during
operation by means of a switch (Order No. F1501 or F1521).
The Mini Option can be switched off completely by means
removed
from the connection pins on -the transmitter
electronics board, and then plugged into the three-pin
sockets on the mini option plate. Push the mini option plugs
into the appropriate "STICK" or "EXT." sockets on the
transmitter electronics board. The main switch (see diag.)
switches off the whole mini option, i.e., the functions work as
though they were plugged directly into the transmitter sockets
of the installed switch.
(STICK or EXT.).
When the mini option is being used as an "accompanying"
mixer, and is required to be switchable, the white plug with
leads from the external switch should, in addition, be pushed
into the 2-pin socket on the mini option plate. The switchable
mix function only works when the mini option has been
Switched off at the main switch.
The Mini Option can also be used as a Y-lead, i.e. it is
possible to position a control function at two receiver outlets.
Uses
As an "accompanying" mixer, the Mini Option can be used
, GO. for combi switch (aileron-rudder) or as airbrakes-
elevator mixer.
j
As across mixer, the Mini Option is suitable for use as V-tail,
delta, or flaperon mixer.
As a Y-lead, for example, two aileron servos installed in the
wing can be directly controlled.
Installation
Connection examples
V-tail: The leads from the contro! functions rudder and
elevator should be piugged onto the corresponding connector
pins on the mini option. The leads from the mini option
should be plugged into the STICK sockets on the transmitter
electronics board. Switch on the main switch, turn the
adjustment conirol in one direction, check the functions. Ifa
servo turns in the wrong direction, the plug inthe mini option
shoul be rotated through 180°. If the functions have been
mixed up, Le elevator travel function gives rudder movement,
installation is exactly the same as for Dual Rate Module.
Fitting
The mini option is practically installed between the stick unit
cables and the the transmitter connection sockets. The
plugs of the functions which are to be mixed should be
