Structure of the basic unit

The basic unit is a displacement transducer which converts the movement of
a probe tip into an electrical signal. Conversion is carried out with the aid of
strain gages inside the unit, located in a full bridge circuit on the measuring
probe tip. The specially developed strain gages, application technology,
compensation circuit and choice of materials ensure that the unit will have
great accuracy and a long service life.
The probe tip can accept displacements of s = "2.5 mm. Stops located on
either side protect the measurement configuration from mechanical overload.
Within the specified displacement, a movement that requires to be measured
is converted into a proportional electrical signal in which deviation from the
characteristic curve is less than 0.05 % of full scale value.
