Clean-in-Place
After a filtration process with the adapter, a CIP (clean-in-place) must be
performed to clean the liquid lines from any residual liquid left from the
filtration process. The CIP fitting is delivered with adapter.
Requirements
— The filter has been removed and discarded (see chapter 5.4,
page 17).
— The operator is prompted to load the CIP fitting onto the Ambr
flow UF | DF Module on the screen of the control unit.
Procedure
Connect the tubing from the tube interface block to the CIP fitting pro-
t
vided. To do so:
Engage the Luer fittings into the Female Luer ports of the CIP fitting
t
(unlike with the filter, the order in which the 3 tubings are connected
is not important). Screw in the Luer Lock rings (2) on the Luer fittings
1
into the CIP fitting.
Ensure to hold on to the Luer Lock rings (2) tightly and not the com-
t
2
pression fittings (1).
Ensure the Luer fittings are engaged in the corresponding ports, and
t
tighten the Luer Lock rings.
3
Tighten the Female Luer cap (3) securely on the fitting.
t
Place the CIP fitting on the side of the adapter in the slot provided.
t
Follow the prompts on the screen of the control unit to carry out the
t
clean-in-place protocol.
When the CIP protocol is complete:
t
Unscrew the Luer Lock rings on the Luer fittings (2) on the CIP fitting
t
and twist and pull on the fittings to disengage them from the CIP fit-
1
ting. Make sure to hold on to the Luer fittings and not the compres-
sion fittings (1).
2
Once all 3 Luer fittings are disengaged, remove CIP fitting for future
t
use.
If using a filter guide, detach the retentate and permeate tubing from
t
the side of the filter guide.
