5.1

Inserting the Adapter

Requirements
The operator is prompted to use 1 or more adapters on the screen of the
control unit.
Procedure
NOTICE The product can malfunction due to the use of unsuitable

filters! Ensure that the filters are suitable for the product (for suitability,
see chapter "9.3 Approved Sartorius Filters", page 23 | chapter "9.4
Other Approved Filters", page 24).
Loosen the filter holder clamp by lifting the handle (2) and pull the pres-
t
sure plate (1) forward.

Lower only the adapter (1) with the tubing interface block attached from

above into the filter holder (2).
The holes in the filter holder must be facing towards the Ambr
y

Crossflow module. The letters engraved on top of the adapter should be
the right way up when looking from above.

By default, and for shipping purposes, the filter clamps on the holder are
y
set up in the vertical orientation for hollow fiber filters.
To use flat sheet filters, unscrew the thumb screws on each side of the fil-
t
ter clamps at the top and bottom of the holder, to slide the filter clamps
out of the holder.
Turn the filter clamps 90° and reinsert them back in the holder.

Tighten the thumb screws to secure them in place.

Ensure the top clamp is at the bottom of its slot.
t
The position of the bottom clamp is adjusted depending on the filter
y
used.
