• Batteries have a limited service life. Defects in the battery that occur during charging cannot be detected by the charger.
Therefore, do not leave the charger unattended for extended periods of time.
• Lithium iron phosphate batteries (LFP / LiFePO4 ) may only be charged with this device if the lithium iron phosphate
battery has an integrated BMS that is capable of independently interrupting the charging of the battery in the event of a fault
(faulty cell balancing / overvoltage).
If this is not the case, do not charge with this device as internal battery fault conditions cannot be detected.
PREPARATION OF THE CARGO
• If the battery must be removed from the vehicle for charging, always remove the grounded terminal of the battery first.
Make sure all auxiliary equipment in the vehicle is turned off to reduce the risk of arcing.
• Clean battery poles. Caution: Corroded poles may contain corrosive substances. Therefore, make sure that these cannot
get into the eyes.
• Add distilled water to each cell until the battery acid reaches the level in the battery specified by the manufacturer. This
helps release excess gas from the cells. Do not overfill.
For a battery without cell seals, carefully follow the manufacturer's instructions when charging.
• Carefully study all the battery manufacturer's special precautions, such as removing or not removing cell caps when
charging, and observe the recommended charging current.
• Determine battery voltage from vehicle operating instructions and make sure it matches battery charger specifications.
• Locate charger as far away from battery as DC charging cables will allow.
• Make sure that the area around the battery is well ventilated while the battery is being charged.
• Never place the charger directly above the battery to be charged; gases from the battery would eat away at the charger and
damage it. Also, never place the battery on top of the charger.
