Configured devices are assigned to fixture buttons 1-16 and the DMX start
addresses are set here. Prior to initial configuration, it is also recommended to
delete the default values in this menu using the <CLR ALL> option. All start
addresses are deleted so that you can configure them freely. This is not possible
in the default setting.
Function
Under <Position>, enter which of the fixtures 1-16 you are creating, then select
the desired device under <Fixture>. The default setting is Fixture 01 = fixture 1,
Fixture 02 = fixture 2, etc. If identical devices are to be controlled synchronously,
they can be assigned to the same fixture button.
Enter the start address here. This is the first DMX channel to which the spotlight
will respond. If, for example, a spotlight with 8 channels is created under Library
and 012 is selected as the start address, the fixture will use DMX channels 12-19.
As a rule, you should assign the start address 001 to the first fixture and then line
up the other fixtures flush. If the first fixture requires 14 DMX channels, for
example, assign the start address 15 to the second fixture. To make things
easier, the DMX Commander 512 only shows start addresses that are suitable
for the selected device. Of course, you are free to make your own decision and
do not have to begin with start address 001; gaps between the DMX channels
are also possible.
Attention! If the start address is set before the device is selected or the device is
changed afterwards, the start address retains its value, even if it overlaps with
other devices. Therefore, after changing a device, always check whether the
DMX start address can still be selected or whether a different one is suggested.
