When conducting resistance measurements, make sure that the measuring points
you touch with the test prods are free from dirt, oil, solder lacquer and the like.
Such circumstances may result in incorrect measurements.
f) Capacitance measurement
If the measured capacitor is being short-circuited or the capacitance reading
exceeds the maximum range of the DMM, "OL" will appear on the mobile device.
When measuring a low capacitance range, conduct a relative measurement (REL) in
order to prevent the readings being affected by a distributed capacitance. Touch the
>REL< field on your mobile device. Capacitance measurements of <50 μF require a
longer time in order to get a correct reading.
To obtain correct readings, we recommend to fully discharging the capacitor first and
then to performing the respective measurement input on the DMM. This is especially
important for capacitors with high voltage, in order to prevent human hazards and
damage to the DMM.
Do not apply input voltages higher than 30 V/AC (mean), peak 42 V/AC or 60 V/DC,
in order to avoid hazards.
