Clearing buttress roots
Prune strong root starts to ensure an efficient felling process and
determine the soak-back location.
If the tree to be felled shows destabilising decay in the area
of the later break line, it is imperative to leave the root
attachments at the hinge points of the break line/notch.
> In this case, only cut the roots at the attachment point of the
felling wedge and, if necessary, "in the direction of felling".
> Place the upper and lower cut of the felling wedge so that they
meet exactly.
