Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by suitably trained and qualified
persons. The operator(s) must receive expert instruction regarding all operating aspects.
Electrical connection of the device may only be carried out by a qualified electrician, and
in accordance with national and local regulations.
3.3
Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as ear protection, goggles, safety shoes,
safety helmet, protective clothing, and safety gloves must be worn during all work on
the system or device.
More information about PPE is provided in the national regulations of the user's country.
3.4
The COSMO CP-HY high-efficiency pumps are designed for use in domestic heating
systems, underfloor heating, and air conditioning systems. This pump is also designed
for pumping low viscosity fluids for industrial and commercial applications.
The pump may not be used for the following applications:
Water/glycol mixtures with more than 30% glycol content
o
Mineral oils
o
Contaminated liquids
o
Use in drinking water networks (e.g. as a circulation pump)
o
In rooms with a high ambient temperature > 40 °C
o
The pump has been built in accordance with state-of-the-art standards and accepted
safety rules. Nonetheless, hazards can arise when using the pump, which can endanger
life or limb of the user or of third parties, or cause damage to the plant or other assets
Damage due to one or more of the following causes will void the manufacturer's liability
and warranty:
Non-observance of the pump's intended use.

Incorrect installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, or repair of the
o
pump.
Non-observance of the safety instructions in this manual.
o
Operating the pump with faulty or incorrectly installed safety and protective
o
devices.
Inspection and maintenance work not carried out according to schedule (see
o
Maintenance).
Use of spare parts and accessories that have not been approved.
o
A prerequisite for warranty claims is that the pump has been correctly installed and
commissioned.
3.5
The pump has been built in accordance with state-of-the-art standards. Nonetheless,
residual risks cannot be excluded:
Caution – risk of burns
High surface temperatures in heating installations can cause severe skin burns.
Wear safety gloves.
o
Attach corresponding warning signs near the device.
o
Caution – electric voltage
If electrical installation is not done by an expert, there is a risk of electric
o
shock.
