10. IF THE MACHINE BREAKS DOWN WITH A HANGING LOAD
- Do not attempt to repair the fault by working on the machine with
a hanging load.
- If possible, remove the load from its present level, then remove
the winch and repair it.
- If it is not possible to remove the load, use another lifting device
(of sufficient capacity) placed higher, hook on the load, free it from
the hook of the broken winch and then lower it down to the ground.
- Do not attempt to lower the load by means of the motor brake
adjustment nut as it would run away.
11. DISMANTLING THE WINCH
Only skilled or properly trained personnel may dismantle the winch.
Remove any load from the hook of the winch. Remove the rope
from the jib and fully wind it onto the drum.
Given the weight of the various components, an appropriate
number of operators must be employed to avoid creating any
dangerous situations during disassembly and transport.
Remove the jib by unscrewing the clamp and extracting it from the
scaffolding.
Disassemble the winch by unscrewing the clamps to detach it
from the scaffolding.
- Caution. While the clamps supporting the winch are
being untightened, take care the winch does not slip down
along the scaffolding pipe as it could crush the operator's
hands or feet.
12. TRANSPORT AND DECOMMISSIONING
Never leave the installed winch unattended without cutting off the
power supply and rewinding the rope as far as the jib.
If the machine is not to be used for a long time, it is a good rule to
keep it covered to protect it from dirt and moisture.
During transport, protect the various parts of the machine from
getting knocked or crushed that could jeopardize its operation and
mechanical strength.
13. SCRAPPING THE WINCH
To scrap the winch, at the end of its service life, it is necessary to
follow at least the following phases:
a) Drain the oil from the reduction gear through the plug.
b) Separate the various plastic and electric components (cables,
push-button panel, etc.)
c) Separate the metal components by type of metal (steel, aluminium,
etc.).
Once separated in this way, dispose of the various components
using authorized collection centres.
- Do not dispose of them in the environment; they can
cause accidents or pollution.
14. NOISE LEVEL AT THE OPERATOR'S EAR
The level Lp(A) indicated in the TECHNICAL DATA chart corresponds
to the equivalent A-weighted sound pressure level as required by
98/37/EC. This level is measured with no load at the operator's
head in the working position 1.5 metres from the machine,
considering the different work conditions.
