Dear Customer,
Congratulations on purchasing the AP 120 IMER winch, the result
of years of experience: it is a highly dependable machine featuring
innovative technical solutions.
- WORKING IN SAFETY. .
For safety purposes, read the following instructions
carefully.
This OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE manual must be kept on site
by the person in charge, e.g. the site foreman, and must always
be available for reference.
The manual is to be considered an integral part of the machine and
must be kept for future reference (EN 292/2) until the machine is
scrapped. If it gets damaged or lost, a replacement copy may be
requested from the manufacturer.
The manual contains important information regarding site
preparation, installation, operation, maintenance and ordering spare
parts.
However, the installer and operator must both have adequate
experience and knowledge of the machine.
In order to be able to ensure operator safety, operating safety and
a long service life for the equipment, the instructions given in this
manual must be observed together with safety standards and
regulations for the prevention of accidents at work in accordance
with current legislation (wearing appropriate footwear and clothing,
hard hats, safety harnesses, fitting railings around drops, etc.).
- It is forbidden to make any kind of alteration to the
steel structure or working parts of the winch, jib or
accessories.
IMER INTERNATIONAL disclaims all responsibility for non-compliance
with regulations governing the use of lifting equipment, specifically:
improper use, defective power supply, lack of maintenance,
unauthorized modifications, tampering and/or damage, partial or
total failure to observe the instructions given in this manual.
- IMER INTERNATIONAL reserves the right to modify the
characteristics of the winch and/or the contents of this
manual with no obligation to update the machine and/or
any previous manuals.

1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

- Warning: Using a lifting machine requires great care
and skill. It must be operated by skilled or properly trained
personnel only.
- The machine is designed to lift materials and to be
used on construction sites.
- Lifting people and/or animals is prohibited.
- It must not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres,
where there is a fire risk or underground.
The machine basically consists of (Fig.1):
- Gearmotor (ref.A) comprising a self-braking electric motor and
oil-bath reduction gear, drum and steel rope diameter 4 mm.
- The framework (ref. B) with guards and clamps for fixing it.
- Shock-absorbing gas spring (ref. C).
- Electrical system (ref. D) composed of a low-voltage instrument
panel with three push-buttons and 6 m of electric cable and a
power plug.
- Revolving jib for lifting (ref. E).
Top limit stop (ref. F); this trips when the counterweight (L) knocks
against the jib (blow cushioned by the spring M) and via the rope
it compresses the gas spring (C).
- Rope anti-slack limit stop (ref. G); this trips when the load has
stopped during the downward movement (sticking on an obstacle),
when the load reaches the ground or when the device trips to
ensure there are always two coils of rope wound around the
drum.

- Hook (ref. H).
2. REVOLVING JIB SUPPORT STRUCTURES.
The structure supporting the revolving jib of the winch must be
able to withstand the forces indicated in Fig. 2 that are generated
during operation.
The calculation to check the supports must be made by an expert
technician.
Since the jib can turn on support pins, these forces must be checked
in every position it can take, bracing and propping the jib's upright
appropriately.
IMER has two accessories, shown in figures 3 and 4, to permit
installation on site according to different assembly setups.
In the case of pipes with a cylindrical endpiece, it is possible to use
an accessory consisting of a pin that, inserted in the top bushing of
the jib, permits assembly as shown in Fig. 3. When using this
assembly setup, you must provide the necessary bracing for the
end upright in order to withstand the forces indicated in Fig. 2,
without obstructing the operator's range of action during work
(Fig. 11).
To mount the jib at an intermediate height of the scaffolding, it is
necessary to use the IMER scaffolding connection Code 1190180,
shown in Fig. 4.
frame of the scaffolding (Fig.11) using the frame connecting
pin as a pin for the jib. Scaffolding makers do not guarantee
the resistance of these pins to the transverse forces
transmitted by the jib.
The CE declaration of conformity attached to this manual is
only valid if all the components of IMER construction are
used (original winch, jib and connections).
If this condition is not observed, this declaration holds solely
for the winch. Anyone installing the winch on an another
type of jib or with another type of scaffolding connection
