4.1
Installation
The installation site must be suitable for the roof fan in type, condition, ambient temperature and ambient medium. The
substructure must be level and sufficiently load bearing. The mounting elements should be as level as possible (max.
5 % incline). However, installation on inclined surfaces up to 45° angle of inclination is possible (e.g. with the pitched
roof base Type SDS, accessories).
The unit may only be installed in outdoor places where wind speeds of 120 km/h are not exceeded. If necessary, ad-
ditional safety measures must be taken.
The unit and terminal box must be freely accessible for installation and maintenance work.
4.2
Install unit
The roof fans are designed for flat roof base installation. The base plate of the unit has 4 holes for mounting to the flat
roof base.
1. Place the unit with the base plate on the flat roof base (FDS, accessories).
2. Screw the unit to the flat roof base with 4 screws.
Tighten the screws in the base equally to avoid warping.
ⓘ If the roof fan VDD 710/6 T120 is installed in combination with a duct shutter (RVS/RVM 710) without a base
attenuator (SSD 710), an extension duct (VR 710) is required between the roof fan and the duct shutter.

> Before any maintenance and installation work or before opening the cover, the unit must be fully isolated from
the power supply.
> The electrical connection may only be carried out by an authorised electrician according to the wiring diagrams.
