8. Commissioning
Please note:
If you wish to operate more than one remote sensor, assign each
sensor to a different channel (channel 1/2/3). Otherwise none of
them will function!
Insert the batteries first into remote sensors and then into the
base unit.
When installing for the first time, place the base unit near the
remote sensor and then press the "RESET" button on the rear of
the base unit after you have inserted the batteries into the unit.
The transmission range between the remote sensor and the base
unit is, under normal conditions, about 20 to 30 m. But this strongly
depends on the ambient conditions around the unit (e.g. walls,
reinforced concrete ceilings etc.).
Please refer therefore to chapter "10. Ranges and radio
interference" on page 30 of these operating instructions.
Although the remote sensor is designed for outdoor installation and
operation, it has to be installed in protected locations, for example,
under a carport. Moreover, direct sunlight, rain, snow or the like
may negatively affect the measurement accuracy.
If you wish to mount the base unit or remote sensor on a wall,
depending on the composition of the wall, drill a hole in the wall and
insert a suitable wall plug.
When drilling, be careful not to damage by mistake any power
supply lines, gas or water pipes, as there may be danger of life
involved!
Insert a screw into the wall so that a
distance of about 3 mm is left
between the bottom part of the screw
and the wall. Later on, you can use
this screw, for attaching either the
base unit or the remote sensor.

c) Reading the temperature & indoor humidity
The indoor temperature and indoor humidity are displayed (sensors are
integrated into the base unit) on the third and fourth line of the LC display.
In addition to the humidity indicator shown in % (e.g. "57%"), a so-called
comfort level indicator is displayed.
It stands for:
To have the temperature readings of the individual remote sensors displayed,
briefly press the "CHANNEL" button to switch to the next channel.
Channel 1
When no signals are received for more than two minutes, blanks "- - - -" will be
displayed for that channel until future signal is successfully received (for
example, caused by short interference).
In such a case, please wait for some minutes and then check the functionality
of the remote sensor or of the inserted batteries, respectively.
You can also try to manually search for the signal. To do this, briefly press the
"MEM" and "CHANNEL" buttons at the same time.

There is a small "hand icon" to the right containing "IN",
see figure to the right.

"Wet"
means the humidity is too high

Channel 3
If one channel is not used (e.g. if you use just one or two remote
sensors), a blank icon always appears "- - - -" for that channel.
